What is Processing and Cognitive Enchancement Therapy (PACE)?

PACE is an innovative, multidisciplinary approach to benefiting a child's entire learning system using best-of-breed techniques from education, psychology, visual and auditory processing approaches. Research has shown an average of 2-3 year improvement in several cognitive areas with only 12-18 weeks of intense, three-day-a-week, one-on-one therapy. We have also documented an average of 2-3 years improvement in the dozens of students we have run through the program in the last year.

Specifically, the PACE program helps develop the core cognitive skills of attention, working memory, processing speed, visual processing, long-term memory, auditory processing, reasoning and logic, and comprehension. All of these skills are essential to helping your child do well in school.

See our PACE website for more details, and ask us for a videotape and evaluation.

Are you affiliated with LBLP?

All of our teachers have completed Lindamood-Bell™  sponsored training seminars, and have certificates of completion.  Because we believe so strongly in their programs, we often incorporate Lindamood-Bell™ strategies into students' individualized educational programs.  However, we are not formally associated with the Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes (LBLP).

What is your goal?

We want the students to accept who they are as a learner, to learn the best strategies for their learning style, and to apply those strategies to be the best they can be.

Do you help with homework?

While we are not a homework help center, we do see part of our goal as helping students to become more efficient learners. Homework is part of their learning process. As such, if homework can be completed as a means of connecting the strategies included in their individualized plan to their daily life, then we are open to helping with homework. However, our first and foremost obligation is to work toward completion of the goals agreed upon in the individualized plan.

Do you consult with the student's classroom teachers?

We are happy to consult with classroom teachers. It is our experience that the more collaboratively teachers, parents, and outside specialists work together, the more efficiently a student is able to make progress. However, we will only contact teachers and school personnel at the parent's request, and once the school has been given permission to speak with us.

What subjects do you tutor?

We have tutors available in all subjects at the elementary and middle school level. Remedial instruction at the high school level is also available.

What age students do you tutor?

We are able to provide services for students K-12.
